Based on the scientific data available, it does indeed appear that Vitamin D helps to prevent hair loss. However, the scientific community has yet to make such a definitive statement on the matter. That said, the moment it does, the funding gets cut off to continue studying the matter, so take the scientists' claims that more research need be conducted with a grain of salt.
There are only one or two articles on the web about this topic that actually have anything credible to say, and they both appear on the same website.
The scientific abstracts are quite difficult to make sense of, but the author appears to have done just that (maybe he or she's a scientist?). It's actually pretty incredible how these abstracts are translated into real English. You know, the kind everyone speaks but scientists are above using in their reports? I'm kidding, and I have a tremendous respect for the researchers who help improve our healthcare options exponentially.
