Based on the evidence available, which includes data from two studies by the Mayo Clinic, one by the Pakistan Medical Association and one by a group of Irish Rheumatologists, it appears very likely that some relationship between low blood-levels of Vitamin D and Fibromyalgia and other non-specific chronic pain.

The most recent Mayo Clinic study found that found that people who take narcotic pain medication are much more likely to have low blood-levels of Vitamin D than people who do not take narcotic drugs for pain. This followed a study from several months prior (also conducted by the Mayo Clinic) that concluded that Vitamin D deficiency is associated with medication refractory musculoskeletal pain and neuromuscular dysfunction.

The Pakistani study determined that  Vitamin D insufficiency is frequently seen in patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia and nonspecific musculoskeletal pain.

The Irish study concluded that a link does indeed exist between Vitamin D deficiency and anxiety and depression in Fibromyalgia patients.

Given that science takes an extremely long time to issue definitive statements about the causality of any disease or illness, it may be several more years before we get a definite "yes" to the question of whether or not Vitamin D3 helps to prevent Fibromyalgia.  That said, those of us who aren't scientists shouldn't have such difficulty in identifying the elephant in the room.

Until such time as a definitive statement is issued by a group of scientists confirming that Vitamin D3 supplementation can help to prevent Fibromyalgia, those of us who have been fortunate enough not to have been diagnosed with the illness should join our less fortunate brethren in making Vitamin D3 supplements a part of our daily routine.
